The photo on the left is me and Steve at Wicked Faire in NJ last weekend (you can see Steve in the mirror taking the picture)
       
The photo on the right is me in 1967, wearing the same suit.  My Dad sent me out to get a suit, and since the Beatles and Stones looked so cool I bought this double-breasted British cut suit like they were wearing on Carnaby Street.

When I got home last weekend I looked at the photo and I realized the suit was older than my son - who happens to be a grown thirtysomething.   My question is - - - is it OK to be wearing a 41 year old suit, or should I just burn everything over, say, 5 years old?

Well I never really considered any of my clothes to be potentially valuable as "vintage" - but the truth is, except that my waist has grown 2" since I was 18, all my other sizes are the same.

So the reality is I have lots of stuff that's older as I never outgrow it - and there are certain things that just can't be thrown away or donated to charity. 40+ years of motorcycle jackets and other gear, some pristine 17" Frye boots, some really outrageous 60s/70s suits with bellbottoms, etc.

Maybe I'll start considering sticking some of the stuff on EBay so it gets into the hands of someone who values it (I rarely wear any of it).

BTW - how's the packing? I assume you really haven't unpacked from Thailand yet?

Let me know if you have anything to get rid of that is 41" chest or 33" waist- I like your style!

We are in the US for nine more days and too, too much to do. WE have ten boxes awaiting us in NZ and have to figure out getting about as much there from here.

I look forward, someday, to having a dull week!
